User Consent
Please read this Policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your Personal Information and how we will treat it. By accessing or using our Websites or Services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy and you expressly consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy subject to your rights and our obligations under applicable law.
Children
We do not intentionally gather Personal Information from visitors who are under the age of 18. If a child under 18 submits Personal Information to Vera Therapeutics and we learn that the Personal Information is the information of a child under 18, we will attempt to delete the information as soon as possible. A Note to Users Outside of the United States
If you are a non-U.S. user of the Websites, by visiting the Websites and providing us with data, you acknowledge and agree that your Personal Information may be processed for the purposes identified in the Privacy Policy. In addition, your Personal Information may be processed in the country in which it was collected and in other countries, including the United States, where laws regarding processing of Personal Information may be less stringent than the laws in your country. By providing your data, you consent to such transfer.

We may collect Personal Information about you that allows someone to identify or contact you, including, for example, your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, as well as any other non-public information about you that is associated with or linked to any of the foregoing data. We may also collect anonymous means data that is not associated with or linked to your Personal Information.
We collect Personal Information:

- From affiliates or third parties that interact with us; and/or

Information You Provide to Us
Personal Information that you may provide through the Websites or Services, or otherwise by communicating with us includes:
- Contact information, such as your first and last name, telephone number, e-mail and mailing addresses, professional title, or company name. If you opt in to receive text messages, your phone number may be received and stored by third party service providers on our behalf. We do not sell or share your phone number with third parties for their own promotional purposes.
- Professional Information such as Contact information, title/role, employer, and other information related to your employment.
- Feedback and correspondence, such as information you provide when you report a problem with the Websites or Services or otherwise correspond with us.
- Marketing information, such as your preferences for receiving marketing communications and details about how you engage with marketing communications.
If you submit any Personal Information relating to other people to us, you represent that you have the authority to do so and to permit us to use that Personal Information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Information Collected Automatically
We may automatically log information about you and your computer or mobile device when you access our Websites or Services. For example, we may log your operating system name and version, manufacturer and model, device identifier, browser type, screen resolution, the website you visited before browsing to any of our Websites, pages you viewed, how long you spent on a page, access times, general location information such as city, state or geographic area, and information about your use of and actions on any of our Websites. To make our Websites and Services more useful to you, our servers (which may be hosted by a third party service provider) collect information from you, including your browser type, operating system, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address (a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet, which may vary from session to session), domain name, and/or a date/time stamp for your visit.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to help our website function properly, improve your browsing experience, and understand how visitors use our site. These tools may be set by us or trusted third-party partners that support analytics, performance, and site functionality. You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through your browser settings. Our Websites use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. Google Analytics may collect information about your use of the Websites. Google Analytics uses cookies to provide information about visits to our Websites, including number of visitors, the websites from which visitors have navigated to our Websites, and the pages on our Websites to which visitors navigate. More information on Google Analytics can be found in the “Privacy & Terms” section of the Google website.
We also contract with third party advertising networks that collect IP addresses and other information from pixel tags or web beacons on our Websites, in our emails, and/or on third party websites. These networks use cookies and other device and usage data in order to recognize individuals who have previously visited a particular website. This information is used to measure advertising effectiveness and provide tailored to your interests.
Our Websites may use social media features, such as the Facebook “like” button, the “Tweet” button and other sharing widgets. These features, which are either hosted by the respective social media network or hosted directly on our Websites, allow you to post information to your third party social media profile page and share it with others in your network. When you click through social media features from particular websites (including our Websites), the social media network may receive information showing the websites you have visited. If you are logged in to your social media account, the social media network can link your visit to our Websites and other websites with your social media profile, and may deliver advertisements or promotions tailored to your interests. Your interactions with social media features are governed by the privacy policies of the companies providing these features.
When you visit the Websites or interact with us in other ways, you can refuse to supply Personal Information. However, this may prevent you from engaging in certain Website-related or other activities.
How We Use Your Personal Information
General Use
This section describes the purposes for which we use the Personal Information we collect about you or you provide to us, and the basis for processing Personal Information. In general, we use your Personal Information to provide our Services, respond to requests that you make or to aid us in serving you better. Please note that there may be other uses, which we would describe to you when we collect the Personal Information.
To contract with you
We may use the Personal Information you provide us to help us fulfill a contract with you, when you use our Websites under the applicable Terms of Use, and for other contractual purposes. We may also use this information to enforce our rights arising from such contracts.
Our legitimate business interests
We may use your Personal Information to pursue our legitimate business interests, including to:

Creation of Anonymous Information
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may combine the various types of data we collect. We may create anonymous data records from Personal Information by excluding information (such as your name) that makes the data personally identifiable to you. We use this information to analyze request and usage patterns so that we may enhance the content of our Services and improve our Websites’ navigation. We reserve the right to use anonymous, aggregated and other de-identified information for any purpose and to disclose such data to third parties in our sole discretion.
Consent
We may use your Personal Information when we have your consent to do so, where required or permitted under applicable law. If we are using your Personal Information on the basis of consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time (which will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before consent was withdrawn, or as otherwise agreed in writing) by contacting us at privacy@veratx.com.
Compliance with Legal Obligations
We reserve the right to use your Personal Information (i) as required by law, court order, legal process or government or regulatory requirement; (ii) to respond to a request from public or government authorities; or (iii) to protect the safety, rights, or property of the public or our company.
How We Disclose Your Personal Information
We disclose your Personal Information as described below and as described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy. As noted above, we may disclose aggregated information about Website users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction.
Third Party Service Providers
We may employ third party companies and individuals to administer and provide the Services on our behalf (such as customer support, hosting, email delivery and database management services). These third parties may use your information only as directed by Vera Therapeutics and in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy, and may not use or disclose your information for any other purpose.
Corporate Restructuring
We may share some or all of your Personal Information in connection with or during negotiation of any merger, financing, acquisition or dissolution, transaction or proceeding involving sale, transfer, divestiture, or disclosure of all or a portion of our business or assets. In the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership, Personal Information may also be transferred as a business asset. If another company acquires our company, business, or assets, that company will possess the Personal Information collected by us and will assume the rights and obligations regarding your Personal Information as described in this Privacy Policy.
Other Disclosures
Regardless of any choices you make regarding your Personal Information (as described below), Vera Therapeutics may disclose Personal Information if it believes in good faith that such disclosure is necessary or appropriate, or upon your request or with your consent. We may disclose Personal Information as we believe necessary or appropriate: (a) in connection with any legal investigation; (b) to comply with applicable laws, lawful requests and legal process, such as to respond to subpoenas or requests from government authorities; (c) to protect or defend our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of you or others; (d) to protect, investigate and deter against fraudulent, harmful, unauthorized, unethical or illegal activity; and/or (e) to investigate or assist in preventing any violation or potential violation of the law, this Privacy Policy, or our Terms of Use. We may also disclose your Personal Information to professional advisors, such as lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers, where necessary in the course of the professional services that they render to us.
Third Party Websites
Our Websites may contain links to third party websites. When you click on a link to any other website or location, you will leave our Websites and go to another site and another entity may collect personal and/or other information from you. We have no control over, do not review, and cannot be responsible for, these outside websites or their content. Please be aware that the terms of this Privacy Policy do not apply to these outside websites or content, or to any collection of your Personal Information after you click on links to such outside websites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of every website you visit. The links to third party websites or locations are for your convenience and do not signify our endorsement of such third parties or their products, content or websites.
Your Choices
In addition to your choices in connection with cookies (see Cookies and Similar Technologies), you have several choices regarding use of information with respect to our Websites and Services:
Changing or Deleting Your Personal Information
You may request that we update or delete your Personal Information by contacting us at privacy@veratx.com. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to honor your request in accordance with applicable law, but please note that we may be required to keep such information and not delete it (or to keep this information for a certain time, in which case we will comply with your deletion request only after we have fulfilled certain requirements). When we delete any information, it will be deleted from the active database, but may remain in our archives. We may also retain your information for fraud or similar purposes.
Opting out of marketing communications
If you have consented to receive marketing emails, you may opt out of marketing-related emails by following the opt-out or unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of the email, or by contacting us at info@veratx.com. You may continue to receive service-related and other non-marketing emails.
Choosing Not To Share Your Personal Information
Where we are required by law to collect your Personal Information, or where we need your Personal Information in order to provide the Services to you, if you do not provide this information when requested (or you later ask to delete it), we may not be able to provide you with the Services. We will tell you what information you must provide to receive the Services by designating it as required in the Services or through other appropriate means.
Security
The security of your Personal Information is important to us. We take a number of organizational, technical and physical measures designed to protect the Personal Information we collect, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no security safeguards are 100% secure and we cannot guarantee the security of your information. Vera Therapeutics assumes no responsibility for interception of confidential information or Personal Information that you send in an unsecured (unencrypted) email message or other Internet transmission to and from our Websites. Therefore, you should take special care in deciding what information you send to us via e-mail, in a Website form or via other Internet transmission. DO NOT SEND INFORMATION RELATING TO YOUR MEDICAL CONDITIONS OR THOSE OF A FAMILY MEMBER OR ANY OTHER PERSONAL HEALTH INFORMATION VIA OUR WEBSITE, AS OTHER PERSONAL HEALTH INFORMATION VIA OUR WEBSITE, AS VERA THERAPEUTICS CANNOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PERSONAL HEALTH INFORMATION SENT THROUGH OUR WEBSITES. Please keep this in mind when disclosing any Personal Information to Vera Therapeutics via the Internet.
International Transfers
Vera Therapeutics is headquartered in the U.S. and operates U.S. Websites subject to U.S. laws, including those governing the privacy and security of your information. When we obtain Personal Information about you, we may store, process, or transfer the Personal Information outside of the country in which you are located, including in the United States. The countries in which we process the information may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you are located. We will protect your information as described in this Privacy Policy and in compliance with applicable law.
Data Retention and Access
We retain Personal Information or as long as needed or permitted in light of the purpose(s) for which it was obtained and as described in this Privacy Policy. The criteria used to determine our retention periods include: (i) the length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you; (ii) whether there is an applicable legal obligation; and/or (iii) whether retention is advisable to enforce our agreements, satisfy applicable statutes of limitations, resolve disputes, or manage litigation or regulatory investigations.

This Privacy Policy applies only to Websites owned or controlled by Vera Therapeutics. Our Websites may contain links to other sites that are owned or controlled by third parties. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy policies of such other sites or how these sites operate or treat your Personal Information. We encourage you to be aware of this when you leave our Websites and to read the privacy policies and terms of use associated with each of these third party websites that collect personally identifiable information.
Your U.S. State’s Privacy Rights
State privacy laws may provide their residents with additional rights regarding our collection, use and sharing of their Personal Information.
Where applicable, certain U.S. states (which as of the effective date of this Policy include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia) provide (now or in the future) their state residents with rights to:

The exact scope of these privacy laws and rights under these laws may vary by state. Please note that this section does not apply to information exempted from the scope of U.S. state privacy laws. This section also does not apply to Personal Information relating to our employees, job applicants, and contractors, who will receive a separate privacy notice from us where required by law.

We collect the following categories of Personal Information: (i) identifiers such as name, address, IP address, and other similar identifiers; (ii) Personal Information described in subdivision (e) of Section 1798.80 (California customer records statute) such as a name, address, or telephone number; (iii) commercial information such as products or services purchased; (iv) internet/electronic activity such as browsing history and search history; (v) professional information such as job title and expertise; (vi) geolocation data including geographic coordinates/physical location; (vii) professional or employment-related information; (viii) audio, video, electronic or other similar information; and (ix) inferences (inferences and analytics based on your purchase/transaction history, based on preferences that you provide us or that we observe (e.g. product preferences, communication preferences).
We have disclosed these categories of Personal Information for a business purpose within the last 12 months (see “How We Disclose Your Personal Information” above for the categories of third parties with which Personal Information is shared, and “How We Use Your Personal Information” for a description of the business purposes for which Personal Information is collected and used).
We will endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request in the timeframe prescribed by applicable state privacy laws, typically within 45 days of receipt. Please note that your right to deletion of Personal Information is subject to certain exceptions by law. If you submit a request for deletion and we retain any Personal Information under one or more of these exceptions, we will explain this to you in our response. In accordance with your rights under state privacy laws, we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. We do not charge a different price or rate or provide a different level of product or service quality based on you exercising your privacy rights. We do not use your Personal Information for automated decision making or profiling.
Nevada provides its residents with a limited right to opt-out of certain Personal Information sales. Residents who wish to exercise this sale opt-out rights may submit a request to this designated address: privacy@veratx.com. However, please know we do not currently sell data triggering that statute’s opt-out requirements.
Information for European, United Kingdom, and Switzerland Residents

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your Personal Information may be protected by the European Union General Data Protection Regulation, United Kingdom Data Protection Act, or the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (collectively, “European Privacy Laws”). For your protection, when you seek to exercise the rights described above, it will be necessary for us to verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm that the Personal Information relates to you.
If we are using your Personal Information based on your consent, you may withdraw this consent at any time. Your withdrawal of consent does not impact the lawfulness of our processing up to the point of consent withdrawal, or as otherwise agreed in writing.
Please note that there are exceptions to the various rights listed above. As an example, in the context of a deletion request, in certain circumstances we may have a legal obligation to retain some of your Personal Information.

Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason and without prior notice. We will notify you of any changes to our Privacy Policy by posting the new Privacy Policy on www.veratx.com and changing the “Effective Date” above. Any revisions to the Privacy Policy will become effective when posted. Unless stated otherwise, our current Privacy Policy applies to all Personal Information that we have about you. You should consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes.
